Tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have escalated since the detention of former Serbian police officer Dejan Pantic on suspicion of attacking election facilities. Pantic is released on house arrest condition already.<br />
Serb ethnic--minority have been protesting Pantic's detention, by standing guard at barricades they set up at border crossings since December 11. The European Union, NATO and the US have called for de-escalation and the removal of barricades in northern Kosovo, while Serbia has requested to deploy its army and police based on a UN resolution.

During the protest Angry Serbs throw fire-crackers on the police line which was placed on the bridge.<br />
Also today, office of Communities in the Bosnian block (Mahala), in northern Mitrovica, came under fire, but fortunately, except material damages no casualty has been reported, said the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) spokesman from Mitrovica region LT.Besim HOTI.<br />
