The head of UNMIK, Joachim Ruecker said today that the organizing of Serbia's local elections in Kosovo would contribute to the increase of parallel structures in administrative level, and according to him, this is unacceptable, but he didn't ordered anything to prevent physical hold of Serbian elections in Kosovo.
He is one of the leaders of the Movement for Self Determination, (Lëvizja VETËVENDOSJE!) which advocates that the status of Kosovo be resolved by a referendum, as an exercise of the right to self-determination. He opposes the current negotiation process arguing that it will lead to a compromise, contrary to the will of the people of Kosovo to be free of Serbia. He argues also that the UN should set a deadline for its departure in order to create the conditions for a true democracy.
